According to the characteristics of AP1000 nuclear islands, namely "Open Roof" construction and modular construction, we have developed a set of advanced protection methods and technologies for modular items of AP1000 nuclear islands of advanced pressurized water reactors with practical value. The independently-developed temporary top cover for protecting finished products during the construction of a nuclear island can realize open-close operations, which not only meets the requirements of finished product protection in nuclear islands, but also meets the space requirements for daily hoisting activities in nuclear islands, improves the construction environment in nuclear islands, the developed main pump protection technology, steam generator dry maintenance technology and other advanced finished product protection technologies provide reference for construction of following nuclear power plant. This technology has been granted 5 patents (including 3 invention patents) and 2 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
